What you’ll drive:
Strategy & outcomes
- �� Own backend architecture decisions and shape the long-term technical direction of the platform.
- �� Drive adoption of engineering best practices across the team.
- �� Improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability at scale.
- �� Systematically identify and reduce technical debt.
Discovery & decisions
- �� Translate product and business needs into scalable, production-ready solutions.
- �� Make informed architectural trade-offs in distributed, high-load environments.
- �� Design systems using modern patterns (event-driven, CQRS, DDD).
- �� Identify risks early and propose pragmatic, proven solutions.
Delivery & execution
- �� Design, build, and ship high-quality backend services in .NET powering live trading operations.
- �� Own the full development lifecycle: from design to production and ongoing support.
- �� Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and strong engineering standards.
- �� Optimize for low latency, scalability, and efficient resource usage.
- �� Improve CI/CD pipelines and drive deployment automation.
Stakeholder & cross-team collaboration
- �� Partner with Product, Design, and DevOps to align on priorities and delivery.
- �� Communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- �� Support integrations across teams and systems.
Leadership & mentorship
- �� Mentor engineers and support their growth.
- �� Lead by example in ownership, code quality, and accountability.
- �� Contribute to a strong, ownership-driven engineering culture.
What makes you a GR8 fit:
Must-have
- �� Strong experience with C# / .NET in building scalable, high-load backend systems.
- �� Experience designing distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- �� Solid knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systems (Kafka or similar).
- �� Strong expertise in databases (SQL + NoSQL), including performance tuning and scaling.
- �� Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- �� Ability to make architectural decisions and take ownership end-to-end.
- �� Experience operating high-availability, low-latency systems.
Nice-to-have
- �� Experience with Orleans, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch.
- �� Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- �� Familiarity with observability tools (APM, logging, tracing).
- �� Understanding of FinOps / cloud cost optimization.
- �� Previous experience mentoring or leading engineers.
- �� Experience in the betting / trading domain.
